Central’s men’s track and field team has moved into the top ten according to this week’s U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III team computer rankings. Previously ranked 11th, the Dutch are now eighth, and their female counterparts are back into the Top 25 with a No. 23 affixed to their name. Central’s men are the highest ranked Iowa Conference school, with Wartburg 14th and Dubuque on the 20th rung. Several Dutch athletes will be in North Carolina for the NCAA Division III National Indoor Championships this Friday and Saturday. On the women’s side, junior Abi Davis will run the 60 and 200, Meredith Zimmerman participates in the 60-meter hurdles, and the 4 x 400 meter relay team will compete. For the men, Eli Horton and Jamie Vander Veer do battle in the mile, Cole Decker in the 5000 meters, Eric Larson heads up the heptathlon, Logan Mulford takes part in the high jump, and the distance medley relay team looks to continue their strong early season push.
