They may have been one of the smaller schools in attendance, but the Pella High boys’ track and field team performed exceptionally well at Waukee yesterday in their first outdoor meet of the season. No team scores were kept, but the Little Dutch placed second in several events. Among the top performers were Chase Van Sant’s school-record setting long jump of 22’3″, which was good for second. Van Sant was also runner-up in the 200 meters. Michael Buma was second in the 110 high hurdles, and the 4 x 800 meter relay team also was runner-up with a time of 8:32. The Dutch are off until Saturday for the Panther Relays in Knoxville.
