The Pleasantville girls’ basketball team recorded the most wins they’ve had since the 2011-12 season, racking up a 5 – 17 mark this year. The Trojans did it through a combination of more balanced scoring and from the senior leadership of star Kennedy Core and Josie Burgett. Though they will lose their leading scorer of the last four years in Core, Coach Aaron Fichter says it will be the work done by his returners this offseason that will determine if the team takes another step forward next season. Freshman Kelsey Van Haalen averaged ten points per game as a freshman and junior Bailey Oliva put in six per game, and Fichter hopes both continue to improve and help lead the Trojans in 2015-16.
