They battled hard, and helped the Central wrestling team take a giant step forward for the future of their program; both Daniel Page and Matt Seabold finished on the podium at the conclusion of Saturday’s NCAA Division III National Tournament in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Both Dutch grapplers had to face the wrestler they took on in the regional finals to get to the national stage, and both of them were from Wartburg. Page at 125 stayed close with Jake Agnitsch, but dropped a 5 – 4 decision. He bounced back and dominated Brian Amato in the seventh place match to earn a 13 – 0 major decision victory. Seabold at 197 fell 9 – 3 to Gerard Roman, and 13 – 3 Matt Hechsel in the seventh place match to finish in eighth place in his weight class. Coach Eric Van Kley says goodbye to a total of six seniors that led a mostly young team onto the mats.
