When the Pella Christian Eagles hit the floor Tuesday, they’ll have to find a way to overcome their disadvantage in the game of inches. They face the defending Class 2A Champions in Western Christian, a group that features 6’7″ Junior Josh Van Lingen, who is averaging close to 18 points and 12 rebounds per contest, and 6’9″ Lucas DenHerder off of the bench. The noted length disadvantage is not a foreign challenge to these Eagles, however. And while Head Coach Larry Hessing wants to keep his cards close to his chest, he says they’ve been overcoming big men all season against teams featuring big wing spans such as Des Moines Christian and Norwalk. Seven-seed Pella Christian is set to take on the two-seed Wolves at 12:15 Tuesday at Wells Fargo Arena.
