The tail-end of their conference schedule coming up on completion, both the Central baseball and softball teams will see action this afternoon. The threat of weather in the area moved the baseball series between the Dutch and Luther up in Decorah to a Saturday-Sunday affair. The quartet of games Central will embark on this afternoon are critical when it comes to postseason implications. The Dutch are sixth in the league, with just a three-game lead over Dubuque, who won the season series over Central, 3 – 1. On the softball side of things, the Dutch women have slipped to fifth in the regional rankings out of six teams, after splitting their last three doubleheaders. Things don’t get easier with games against Buena Vista today, and then two more versus first-place Luther tomorrow. Good news for the Dutch, they are all at home.
