Knoxville’s Tanner Dunkin again proved that he is indeed one of the fastest kids in Iowa by placing third in the boys 100 meter at the Drake Relays yesterday. Dunkin won his preliminary heat in :11.19 and then shaved nine hundredths off in his final. Nathan Winters also put up a good showing in the discus. On the heels of a third place Thursday in the shot put he placed 11th in the discus with a throw of 159 feet four inches. Coach Joe Cunningham tells KNIA/KRLS Sports both Winters and Dunkin are elite athletes only come around once in a while. The four-by-100 relay team from Knoxville involving Dunkin, Connor Bailey, Austin Davis, and Nolan Wallace placed 41st and was unable to qualify for the finals, their time was :44.69.
