Central’s women’s track and field team put 25.5 points of distance between them and second place Mount Mercy to win their home invitational on Thursday afternoon. Meredith Zimmerman was first in the hurdles, and had a time of 14.69 in the prelims, which is currently third in all of Division III. Morgan Koenigs was first in the 400, as was Abi Davis in the 200, to name a few of the Dutch’s top performers. Central men’s were third with a team score of 119 points, while Loras was first with 212. Kody Dailey and Gunnar Johnson each won field events, and Isaac Steffensmeier and Knoxville alum, Timothy Shepherd were second and third, respectively, in the 1,500 meters. Central’s squads are back at it next weekend for the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines.
