Knoxville City Council
In an effort to create a healthy and vibrant community, the Knoxville City Council approved a services contract with a city planning firm as a consultant in resolving several community issues, including non-conforming lots.

The contract for the consultant will not exceed $2500 annually, without further council approval.
The council voted Monday to use Confluence as their city planner. They have experience working with non-conforming lot issues in West Des Moines. City Manager Harold Stewart said the idea of using a city planner came from the Planning and Zoning Department, who believe it would be beneficial.
Council Member Tim Pitt stated the non-conforming lots situation is “a pot that’s boiling” and he thinks a city planner is the way to go in resolving it.
