Able to avoid the weather, the Pella High boys’ soccer team faced some unfamiliar territory in their three games in the Roosevelt Roughrider Boys Soccer Classic this weekend. The day started much like their others this season: with a win. Pella played St. Albert Council Bluffs and wound up on top, 7 – 1. Will Warner had two goals in the first half, John-Michael Zalcberg also had two, while Sawyer Burton, Ethan Poulter, and Seth Johnson had the other tallies. The Little Dutch were blanked by Class 3A Sioux City West in match two, 1 – 0, and finished the day with a 2 – 1 loss to Bishop Heelan. Jay Belding had Pella’s lone goal, as their record currently stands at 6 – 2. The Little Dutch are at home to host Pella Christian this Tuesday.
