The 50th Panther Relays were held on Saturday at Knoxville High at Randy Wilson Track, and the Pella High boys’ and girls’ track and field teams both emerged victorious. The Little Dutch had a team score of 158, a total of 39 points better than second-place Oskaloosa. Among the top performers were Payson VandeLune placing first in the 800, Michael Buma and Travis Dingeman went 1-2 in the 400 meter hurdles, and the 4 x 800 meter relay team crossed the finish line first. On the girls’ side, the Lady Dutch put a whopping 83 points between them and second place South Tama. Kelcey Blommers and Payton Phelps were 1-2 in the 800, Tess Roorda was fastest in the 1500, and all seven of the Lady Dutch relay teams, including the hurdle relays, came in first. Pella Christian’s girls finished sixth and the boys were seventh. The Eagles’ top performer on the boys’ side was Max Shannon, who was eighth in the 400. Marina Shannon was third in the 800 for the Eagle girls, and PC’s 4 x 200, 800 and sprint medley relay teams all took the bronze. Full results for all schools can be found below.
