One of the better nights their home invite has been held, Pella Christian and several of our area schools turned in some impressive times at the Eagles’ track and field meet on Tuesday. Pella’s boys and girls swept the standings; the Lady Dutch scored 228 to win by 77.5 over Carlisle, and the boys, with a mostly JV squad in attendance, put up 155 to defeat Lynnville-Sully by 41. Megan Kooker for Pella and PC’s Sarah Meyer crossed the line in a tie in the girls’ 200 meter dash, and the Lady Dutch finished first in all of the relays, save for the 4 x 100, which was won by Albia. Garret Jansen set another school record, this time in the shot put, with a heave of 53’6″, to win that event. PCM’s boys took third place; Skyler Koder won the high jump, and the Mustangs’ shuttle hurdle relay team also took first. The host Eagles’ boys tied for fifth with Pleasantville; among top performers for both schools include a win by the Trojans’ 4 x 100 meter relay team, while Jacob Lensing grabbed ten points for the Eagles with a triumph in the 1600 meter run. PC’s gals were sixth overall, Pleasantville was seventh, and both Melcher-Dallas teams were eighth. A full list of official results can be found by clicking the link below.
