The Pella Public Library is hosting an author who will discuss Prohibition through the lens of Iowa townspeople.
Linda Betsinger McCann, author of Prohibition in Eastern Iowa and the “Lost Towns” series will be there on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Visitors will learn about the farmers who grew corn that was used to make illegal liquor, the bootleggers who trafficked it, the gangsters who sold it, and the regular people who were swept up in the middle of it all.
