Pella Regional Health Center is implementing a 24/7 Nurseline starting Friday.
Chief of Clinic Services Lezlie Morris says this service is available to anyone needing assistance.
“We are constantly striving to improve aspects of our patient centered medical home. The medical home is designed to keep patients healthy by providing primary care, coordinating any visits to specialists and taking steps to manage health,” said Lezlie Morris, Chief of Clinic Services at Pella Regional. “The patient is always at the center of our medical home and we know that access to medical care is a key to keeping you and your family healthy. We want to make sure you can get the medical guidance you need when you need it. Our 24/7 Nurseline makes that happen.”
Staff with the 24/7 Nurseline will guide patients through their medical questions including general direction on medication, symptom management and more. They will also direct patients to the appropriate level of care for their health concern which may include self-treatment at home, scheduling a clinic appointment, or going to Emergency.
The 24/7 Nurseline allows Pella Regional to enhance the continuity of care for their patients. As these nurses have access to the patient’s electronic medical record, they are able to see a variety of important information and make well informed decisions when determining next steps in the patient’s immediate health care such as:
– Current medications
– Allergies
– Recent clinic visits
– Physician notes
