A final prep period before the Iowa Conference tournament, Central’s women’s tennis team thoroughly dominated Simpson yesterday, 9 – 0. The only test in the singles matches came at the No. 2 slot, where Kari Grindberg had to battle back after losing set one to win the final two in close fashion, 7 – 5 and 10 – 7. The doubles’ competitions were also neck-and-neck, but the Dutch were again able to find ways to claw and scratch their way to wins in the tiebreaker format. Central is 10 – 7 in their spring season, and they will be the No. 4 seed in the league tourney, which begins next Friday in Cedar Rapids.
