An expansion project at Weiler in Knoxville is moving forward after the state agreed to give their portion of funds to the proposal.
The City of Knoxville agreed to help Weiler with a local match to the state funding they applied for and that commitment by the city helped Weiler receive their state funds.
As part of the local match, Weiler will pay the city back a $120,000, zero-interest loan over the next five years, which will bring in $600,000 from the state. The Knoxville City Council also approved a $400,000 tax abatement.
The project is expected to add 100 jobs to the community.
