An expansion project by Weiler in Knoxville means 100 new jobs will be coming to the area.

The City of Knoxville has agreed to help Weiler with a local match to state funding that they’ve applied for to complete the project.
Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart was pleased with the announcement, saying along with all the jobs added to the local economy, it will also bring in $1 million in investment from outside the community.
Stewart says the city partnered with the Knoxville Economic Development Commission to see that the local matches could be met. As part of local match, Weiler will pay the city back a $120,000, zero-interest loan over the next five years, which will bring in $600,000 from the state. The Knoxville City Council also approved a $400,000 tax abatement.
