One man is in custody after he led police on a chase through Pella into Jasper County on Friday night.
It started at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Highway 163. Speeds topped 80 miles per hour on T-14 north of Pella, and ended just north of the county line just before 10 p.m. Sylvester Trotter of Carroll was arrested and charged with eluding, driving while suspended, and OWI 2nd offense. The Iowa State Patrol initiated the pursuit, and was assisted by deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
