It was a good start to Central’s final homestand of the 2015 baseball season yesterday. The Dutch swept Loras in two games that were decided by just one run; 1 – 0 and 5 – 4. Staff ace, Andy Carr, limited the Duhawks to just four hits in seven innings of work for the complete-game-shutout and his fifth win this season. Central’s run came all the way in the bottom of the sixth, when Kirby Coppess hit a sacrifice fly to score Noah Stochl, who led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on a wild pitch. The game took just over an hour to complete. Central took advantage of five Loras errors in game two to hold on and win by a run in the nightcap. Coppess, Zach Brown, and Michael Reuter each had two-hit nights. The Dutch improve to 18 – 19 overall and are now 14 – 12 in league play. They’ll conclude the regular season this morning with another doubleheader. You can hear every pitch live on KNIAKRLS.com via our KNIA2 stream.
