The Van Zante Creek Water Quality Improvement Project will host a Cover Crop Informational Meeting in June.
Meeting topics include benefits of cover crops, the role of NRCS with cover crop utilization, how they are used in the Van Zante Watershed, aerial seeding practices, and the opportunity to sign up for cost share. In addition, a panel of farmers will share their experiences with cover crops in the area. The event will take place on Thursday, June 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Monroe City Administration Building at 206 Sherman Street in Monroe. The event is free, and the Jasper County Farm Bureau is providing a meal for attendees.
