After some extremely impressive times and performances at the Class 2A state qualifying track and field meet last Thursday, the Pella Christian girls are brimming with confidence heading into tomorrow’s “Day One” in Des Moines. Several of the girls that ran for Coach Kevin Herdegen last year on the “Blue Oval” are back again this year in a trio of relay races. Herdegen knows their experience from a year ago will aid his Eagles this week, but also feels going up against strong competition in the Little Hawkeye Conference helps the team even more. Pella Christian’s first and only event tomorrow won’t be a relay race. Christa Veenstra will compete in the finals of the 400 meter dash at approximately 1:20 p.m. Veenstra is involved in the second heat.
