It was a very bountiful night at the State Qualifying Meet in Pella for the Knoxville Track and Field Squads. The boys have seven automatic qualifiers led by Tanner Dunkin who landed in three individual events as he qualified in the long jump, 100, and 200. Nathan Winters qualified in the shot put and discus as he reversed his fortunes in those events winning the discus and finishing second in the shot put. Also, John Mitchell qualified in the 800, plus the 4×100 meter relay team of Connor Bailey, Nolan Wallace, Austin Davis, and Dunkin qualified. The boys finished third as team. For the girls they finished seventh, and got three automatic qualifiers. Kendrea Richardson qualified in the 100 and 200 plus Kayla Moats qualified in the high jump. Both teams may have wildcard qualifiers as the state will post those later. We will have those results when they become official.
