The Knoxville Softball Squad bolted out to a six-to-one lead and was cruising…then the Panthers gave up seven runs in the final three innings and fell to the Reddetts 8-6. The Panthers started off with lighting and thunder as they plated three runs in the bottom of the first highlighted by a Ricki Hall two run bomb. Three more runs would come across in the third to build a 6-1 lead. However, after that it was all Centerville. Panthers Coach Steph Christner told KNIA/KRLS the mistakes began to pile up later in the game. Taylor Carter was 4/4 at the plate with a double and R-B-I. Emily Wallace took the loss going five innings allowing seven runs on nine hits, four walks, and struck out four. Delaynee South came in and pitched the final two innings of relief. The Panthers are now 2-1 on the season and begin South Central Conference play at 0-1. Knoxville is off until Friday when they Panthers host Clarke in a double header.
