13 events between boys and girls from the Knoxville Track and Field Squads will head to the Blue Oval starting today for the State Track and Field Meet. Some of the events the Panthers are favored are the boys 100 meter with Tanner Dunkin. He is the defending 3A state champion and had the honor of being the Fastest Kid in Iowa last season. Coach Joe Cunningham tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he wants his guys to go out on top. The Panthers are the number one seed in the 4×100 meter relay, and Nathan Winters sits near the top of the shot put and discus events. On the girls side, Kendrea Richardson has the fifth best time in the 100. Coach Brad McWilliams says if the girls keep improving, even at the state meet, they may find themselves on the medal stand.
