Life Jackets
The US Army Corps of Engineers and the Red Rock Lake Association announced the recent installation of a new life jacket loaner station at the North Overlook Beach.
Park Ranger Tracy Spry says it holds life jackets that boaters and swimmers may borrow as needed. She says the service is free and the jackets are available in a variety of sizes ranging from infant to adult.
“Drowning can be easily prevented by providing free life jackets like these for boaters to borrow. Even swimmers and beach visitors can use them to wear when in and around the water,” Spry says.
The new stand was provided by the Red Rock Lake Association and the non-profit Sea Tow Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting safe boating practices.
