One man is in custody for drug-related felonies after police executed a search warrant in rural Leighton Thursday.
At approximately 10:10 a.m., members of the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force with the assistance of the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Oskaloosa Police Department executed a drug search warrant at 1176 Old Hwy 92, where police seized illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. Rick Langstraat, 49, was taken to Mahaska County Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver more than 5 grams of methamphetamine, a class B felony; possession with intent to deliver cocaine, a class C felony; possession with intent to deliver marijuana, two counts of failing to affix a drug tax stamp, and possession of a firearm as a felon. The Pella Police Department was also among the assisting agencies.
