How best to use hotel/motel tax funds in Knoxville will be decided with the help of the new Tourism Advisory Commission.

City Manager Harold Stewart says the commission will advise and offer recommendations to the Knoxville City Council regarding the city’s tourism efforts. He says it allows there to be a public process with community representatives deciding how to best invest funds for tourism in the city of Knoxville.
The commission will be comprised of seven members, including four city residents and a representative each from the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, Marion County, and the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum or Knoxville Raceway boards.
Stewart says anyone interested in becoming a member of the Tourism Advisory Commission should visit city hall and fill out an application.
