Nobody was injured during a house fire late Sunday night in Pella.
The Pella City and Rural Fire Departments responded to a call of smoke coming from a home at approximately 11:10 p.m. at 1550 Main Street. Assistant Fire Chief Joel Braafhart tells KNIA/KRLS news that the fire started in the basement, but the exact cause is unknown at this time and is pending an investigation. He says all occupants made it out safely. City of Pella Electric Crews and Alliant Energy cut electricity and gas to the home as firefighters worked to put out the blaze. The Pella Police Department and Pella Community Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
