Starting their run towards an NCAA title yesterday, the Central men’s golf team found themselves in 16th place after day one of the Division III National Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Dutch shot a first round 302, a total of 18 strokes behind first place, Methodist. Desmond Stoll shot a 73, a score of one-over par, and is tied for 29th individually. Central started the tournament on the harder of two courses they’ll play over the next three days, and put up a score that only five other schools beat. Action resumed for the Dutch men in day two earlier today at 7:20 a.m. eastern time on the easier of the two courses. Teams must be in the top 15 to make the cut and play through to Thursday.
