Playing Class 3A opponent, Des Moines Lincoln, Pella Christian’s girls’ soccer team held their own, showed composure, and found the back of the net in a 5 – 1 loss last night. Coach Mike Buchheit tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that the girls made some good adjustments in the second 40 minutes after they gave up two goals in the first nine minutes to fall behind 5 – 0. Haylie Van Maanen scored in the 69″ for the Eagles, thanks to a helper from Cailey Terpstra. PC’s girls are now 2 – 8 on the season, and they’re off for Tulip Time this week before returning to action next Monday against Knoxville.
