The final hurdle before the state qualifying meet this Thursday for the PCM boys’ and girls’ track and field teams in the Heart of Iowa Conference meet on Monday at Saydel. The PCM girls won the meet last year, and even with the loss of some key seniors, the Mustangs still hope to challenge for a repeat, amongst some tough competition. Coach Bridget Martin says it will be a challenge alongside some Class 3A schools, but it would be an honor to win the league meet in arguably the hardest conference for track and field in the state. The co-ed meet at Saydel is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
