The Pella Christian boys and girls soccer teams were able to sweep Centerville in their final regular season home games, winning 5-0 and 1-0 respectively. Boys coach Garret Brouwer tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that they were able to control the ball throughout, and he’s excited about their ball movement, which led to five different players hitting the back of the net. Girls Coach Mike Buchheit says his team played a very good possession game, but struggled to finish near the goal. Cailey Terpstra scored the lone mark for the girls with five minutes to go in the 2nd half. Senior Haylie Van Maanen says it was a nice experience to bond with her teammates on the home pitch one last time before graduation, despite the fact she’s been sidelined with an injury. The boys move to 7-6 and the girls to 4-9, and both will next play DCG on Thursday.
