Pella High’s girls’ and boys’ soccer teams scored a combined ten goals in their two wins yesterday evening. The Lady Dutch were victorious, 6 – 1, over Marshalltown. Kayla Langstraat recorded a hat trick, Katie Vander Molen, Ashley Kirkland, and Emma Thoreson added the other goals for Pella. Coach Mark Solomon challenged his Little Dutch to close games out now that the postseason is about two weeks away, and they did just that, scoring three goals in the second half to blank Mount Pleasant at home, 4 – 0. All goals were recorded by different athletes; Seth Johnson, Nick Finney, Christian Hamilton, and Andre Hernandez all tallied for the guys in green, as they improve to 12 – 4, and the girls are now 9 – 1, and both return to action on Tuesday against Oskaloosa.
