The top four hitters, and nearly the entire pitching staff returns for the Knoxville Baseball Squad as the Panthers embark on the 2015 season with the opener tonight in Oskaloosa. The Panthers had a team batting average of 320 which led the Little Hawkeye Conference last season. While the Panthers were not power hitters last year, Tony Salato, Kevin Woodhouse, Jake Kendall, and Jared McClung combined for 155 of the teams’ 293 hits. On the mound, Salato figured into eight saves and had a .71 E-R-A. The Panthers are in a new conference as is each of the Knoxville teams so tonight’s season opener with Oskaloosa is a non-conference contest. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and streamed live at kniakrls.com starting at 7:30 with Derek Cardwell and Marcus Johnson.
