Citizens in Knoxville could see pavement poured along Main Street as early as this week.

That’s the latest update from crews during Tuesday’s Streetscape meeting at City Hall.
City of Knoxville Engineering Technician Richard Breese says Main Street passed the proof-roll test to ensure the rocks are compact enough to support the pavement. Hawkeye Paving’s Beau Perkins says crews should be able to pour concrete on Monday or Tuesday, weather permitting.
Meanwhile, progress on Robinson Street is going a little slower due to the number of utilities. The main sewer drain is in and service lines are in the process of being connected. It’s expected to take another two weeks to get all the service lines in.
The next Streetscape meeting will be held at City Hall on Tuesday, May 26th.
