If the 2015 high school track and field season’s schedule were placed on an actual track, the schools would all be coming around the final turn on the backstretch. The state qualifying meets for everyone take place next Thursday, and teams are gearing up for a busy and important next seven days. Pella High’s boys’ and girls’ track teams won’t be leaving the Tulip City until, hopefully, the State Track and Field Meet at Drake Stadium starting on May 21. Pella hosts a meet on Monday, and then have their state qualifying meet in the Tulip City, too. Little Dutch head coach, Brent Van Hauen, says his team will be mostly concerned with getting up to 100% over the next seven days. Van Hauen adds he’s been impressed how the relay teams have improved this year, to go along with the individual events that have excelled all season.
