Tying at 350 with PCM, a fifth score tiebreaker ended up being the difference in who made it to districts between Pella Christian and the Mustangs’ boys’ golf teams in the Class 2A sectional tournament on Friday. The Eagles did finish third, and Graham Howerzyl shot an 83 to advance individually to the district next week. Howerzyl’s round was second best amongst a talented field. Kenden Veenstra shot one of his best rounds of the season, finishing second on the team with an 86 to tie for seventh overall. PCM was led by Dayton Boell, who had an 85, followed up by Reid Jenkins, who carded an 86. The PCM boys, along with Graham Howerzyl representing the Eagles, will golf at Fox Ridge Golf Course on Friday in the district meet. The Eagles are next in action with their home tournament at Bos Landen this Monday.
