Although rain can slow the progress of the downtown Streetscape project in Knoxville, work can still be accomplished.

Assistant City Manager Aaron Adams says crews along Main Street still have tasks to perform even in the rain. He says the progress there allows crews to continue with the prep and cleanup for pouring concrete, as long as there’s not lightning.
Work on Robinson Street, however, will continue to be delayed by rain because it’s not as far along as Main Street.
Adams believes it’s good for the public to know that the work on Streetscape doesn’t stop just because of inclement weather.
