Taking a season off due to the low numbers of the program in 2014, the Melcher-Dallas baseball team has laced up the cleats in 2015 with a very young, but hopeful, ballclub. The Saints have no juniors or seniors, and only a few sophomores, with the rest being freshmen and eighth-graders doing the best that they can each time out. First-year head coach of the Saints, Pat Ferguson, says the parents are ecstatic the boys of summer are sticking around town. He adds that with their youth, the team still seems a bit tentative when they take the field, but expresses that they are a growing squad and are getting better every day. Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars clash tonight in Bussey for a Varsity/JV doubleheader.
