The year 2015 has already been an impressive one for the Pella Christian softball team. They’re currently undefeated, they’ve faced difficult competition, haven’t had much, if any, trouble with an opponent up to this point, and all facets of the game are working like a well-oiled machine. Tonight, the Eagles cross county lines to Mahaska with a date with Oskaloosa. Emma Schnell has been a big part of the success this year. A transfer from Lynnville-Sully, Schnell has averaged almost two strikeouts per inning through seven games, a majority of which she’s been called upon to make the start. Coach Karen Harrill gives her credit, but says it’s been Schnell and the “supporting cast” around her that have helped leave their opponents scratching their heads after each game. Tonight’s game versus the Indians can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com, with Cory Houser on the play-by-play. Pre-game coverage is set to begin at 7:15 p.m. with first pitch at 7:30.
