Pella Christian baseball and softball once again looked impressive in their wins over Colfax-Mingo yesterday. In a game heard live on 92.1 KRLS, the Eagles put up a crooked number in all four innings of a 16 – 1 early-exit victory by the PC baseball team. Ben Bouwcamp came up with the game-winning hit with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth, drilling a ball over the centerfielder’s head to finish a 2-for-2 day at the plate. Scott Haveman also had two hits and drove in two runs while scoring three of his own. Eagle softball came out with a 4 – 1 win over the TigerHawks. Eleven total hits were collected by PC batters, two apiece from Courtney Johannes, Chloe Dembski, and Tessa Howerzyl. Natalie Vos was the winning pitcher, collecting four strikeouts, while Emma Schnell got the save. Pella Christian baseball improves to 5 – 6, the softball team is a phenomenal 12 – 1, and both teams play at home versus Norwalk for another conference game later tonight.
