Within minutes after accepting the resignation of Joe Cunningham from the Knoxville Boys Track and Field program, the Knoxville School Board voted to accept a recommendation for a new coach at their meeting last night. They did not have to look far, as Cunningham’s assistant and current football coach Eric Kellar has accepted the job. Kellar coached the football squad to its first playoff appearance last fall in 24 years will stay on as gridiron coach. He was head boys track coach at his previous school, Eddyville-Blakesburg. This Panthers this year finished fifth at the state meet and brought home three individual state titles.
