When it comes to spring vs. fall sports at Central, some groups have their traditional seasons in the fall, while others get theirs in the spring. It just so happens that the Central tennis teams split up in exactly that manner. The women play their “for all the marbles” contests at the beginning of the school year, and the men wait for things to start warming up again in the spring months to get their season in full swing. From February – May, Coach Ryun Ferrell has to contend with a bevy of programs the college has to offer, but says he tries to keep things interesting and worthwhile for his athletes during their non-traditional season. The Dutch women were 7 – 3 during their main drag and 4 – 3 in the Iowa Conference. Next year’s schedule is not out yet, but Ferrell knows he’ll be returning all but three seniors to the program for 2015-16.
