Five total homeruns were hit between Knoxville and Eddyville-Blakeburg last night, but the two bombs hit by Knoxville’s Ricki Hall will be the ones fans will remember as the Panthers knocked off class 2A number two ranked Eddyville-Blakeburg 11-5 in softball. The Rockets jumped out on top early with two homers of their own in the second inning and another run in the fourth to make it 3-0. But back came Knoxville with two runs in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to one. After another E-B-F blast to make it 5-3 it was all Knoxville highlighted by Hall’s two run shot in the fifth and then a three-run homer to blow the game open. Delaynee South sat down the Rockets in order in seventh to preserve the win. Coach Steph Christner told KNIA/KRLS Sports the beginning of the game did not go well, and said the girls refocused and turned things around. Hall went 2/4 with five R-B-I, Avery Neer collected three R-B-I going 2/4 as well. Knoxville is now 15-10 on the season and 7-6 in the South Central Conference.
