Central softball all-American, Karlee Rock, is a nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The program honors academic achievements, excellence in athletics, community service, and leadership in all three divisions. A committee will choose the top 30, ten from each division, followed by three finalists from each division. The winner will be announced in Indianapolis on October 18. The Dutch have had seven student-athletes elected as the state of conference woman of the year since 1995. Rock graduated with a 3.40 GPA, with a biology major and a chemistry minor, and she helped the Dutch softball team get to a 34 – 12 record and a spot in the super regionals.
