They only needed one, but the Pella High girls’ soccer team made it to the state tournament for the tenth time in program history after their 2- 0 win over Indianola last night. The Lady Dutch scored with a little over ten minutes to go in the first half, and added another tally for good measure in the second to secure another trip to the Cownie Soccer Complex. Freshman Maddie Canfield and junior Kayla Langstraat had the two tallies for Pella, who improves to 12 – 3 on the season. They have a tough task ahead of them in the quarterfinals of the tournament; Dallas Center – Grimes, whom Pella fell 1 – 0 to at the end of May in the regular season finale. The two schools will square off at the Cownie Soccer Complex on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
