It was a successful day on the diamond for the Pella High softball team on Saturday. The Lady Dutch came away with a 2 – 1 mark in their three tournament games at Oskaloosa. Game one went extras, but Alexa Dingeman hit a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to beat Cardinal, 5 – 4. Elyse Sadler had the win on the mound. A final of 11 – 6 went Pella’s way versus Albia, thanks to a 4-for-4 night at the plate by Sara Tallman. Unfortunately, the weekend ended with a 3 – 0 shutout loss to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Pella’s record is now 8 – 3, and they’re getting ready for a conference game versus Pella Christian on Monday, which you can hear live on 92.1 KRLS and KNIAKRLS.com, with Cory Houser on the play-by-play. Pre-game coverage is set to begin at 7:15 p.m. with first pitch at 7:30.
