Their name from the 2014 Class 1A state championship hanging on the right field wall, Twin Cedars’ baseball team returned to Principal Park for the first time since clinching their first ever title last August. Things were going well; Otis Roby was dealing on the mound, but a pair of late-inning tallies by opposing Martensdale – St. Mary’s were the difference in a 3 – 2 loss for the Sabers. Twin Cedars held a 2 – 1 lead after the third inning, which held up until the sixth, when the Blue Devils tied it, followed by a walk-off run in the seventh. The Sabers managed just one hit, that was an RBI knock from Jake Knox. Roby threw the complete game, allowing four hits, two walks, but struck out 13 batters. The boys in blue drop to 10 – 3, and they play at home versus Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont later tonight.
