A whole brick of swiss cheese could have been made by the giant holes that were left by the Twin Cedars baseball seniors that left the program after their memorable 2014 Class 1A state championship run. Much of the power bats and an impressive arm on the mound graduated last summer, which left quite a bit of spotlight for the younger Sabers to step up and try to soak in. The transition started with the first practice over a month ago, something Coach Matt Miller says was like stepping onto the moon for the first time. What that team has been so far is undefeated. Though it hasn’t been in as dominating of a fashion as they showed the last couple of years, the Sabers are getting the job done. Coach Miller says he’s been preaching to the underclassmen pitchers to throw strikes and play solid defense, while getting on base in any way possible has been a big emphasis at the plate. The Sabers are scheduled to play Davis County later tonight.
