The Pleasantville Baseball team still has the winning formula as they took down Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, 8-7 in game 1 of a four team tournament, before quickly moving on to Twin Cedars and putting them down 7-3. The Trojans offense was once again led by Zeb Adreon, who went 6-8 in the two games combined, and Josh Luna, who hit a home run in each game to bring his total to eight in the past seven games. With the two wins Saturday, Pleasantville ups their record to 22-3 on the season, and they resume their schedule Monday at East Union. The Pleasantville Softball team did not fare as well in their tournament Saturday, first losing to Melcher-Dallas and then falling to Seymour 2-1. Still struggling to find some offense, the Trojans record now falls to 11-10 and they next play at home against Nodaway Valley.
Twin Cedars baseball played well in their first game on Saturday crushing a strong Albia team 9-2, before ultimately falling to Pleasantville 7-3 in the tournament decider. Otis Roby was on the mound versus the Blue Demons, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out an incredible 19 batters. Trace Embray, Roby, and Spencer McCarty all had multiple hits. The latter was the starter versus the Trojans and took the loss, giving up five earned on nine hits in six innings of work. After a strong start to the season winning 10 of the first 11 games, the Sabers have faltered of late going only 3-3 in their last six. Twin Cedars now is 13-4 on the season and next play in a doubleheader Monday at Iowa Christian Academy.
